Why do we have rate limits?​

Rate limiting is used by the API to prevent abuse and ensure a reliable experience for all consumers.

What are the rate limits for the 0x APIs?​

The 0x Cross Chain API supports 25 RPS, with the ability to scale up based on your integration needs. Most applications operate comfortably within this range, and the infrastructure is designed to support temporary spikes beyond this for high-demand events. If your integration expects sustained high-volume traffic or large bursts (e.g. driven by user campaigns, market volatility, or rebalancing events), we recommend reaching out so we can help monitor and support your use case.

How are rates calculated?​

The following is shared to help your team to maximize your app setup. The example below uses the 25 RPS; however, the same logic applies to all tiers.

• The 25 RPS is 25 calls per endpoint.

• The 25 RPS is per fixed 1 second window; in other words, the API has fixed 1 second windows and will allow 25 calls per endpoint any where within that 1 second window
