Simulation

Matcha Meta is not the only meta aggregator, but it was the first to use simulation for every quote you see. Simulation allows you to see what will happen if you choose an aggregator and protects you from bad quotes. Sometimes aggregators will:

  • Overquote - promise more than they can actually get

  • Revert - their quote will immediately revert when you open your wallet or try submitting

While other meta aggregators like DefiLlama Swap and Oku have also begun simulating, their capabilities have various limitations:

  • Only works after you have connected your wallet

  • Only works on some aggregators

  • Only works after you have approved an aggregator

  • Only can verify the quotes if you have enough balance

  • Doesn't show the simulated output (protects you from reverts, but not overquoting)

Matcha Meta simulation always works. It has the most advanced simulation system in the EVM. It doesn't matter if you have connected your wallet, if you have set approvals, or even if you have the right balance. When you see a number on Matcha Meta, you can trust that it has been simulated. Here is an example of another meta aggregator underquoting: https://x.com/philipliao_/status/1953956691692990824
